Sukkot at Shaare Emeth! – 2019

Sunday, Oct 13 – Let the Games Begin!

4 – 8 p.m.

Come play your favorite board games in the sukkah! Appropriate for all ages. Dinner at 5:15 p.m. Bring your own dinner or pre-order a boxed dinner. Come and go as you please!

Monday, Oct 14 – Early Childhood Engagement Sukkot

Bee Happy, Bee Kind, Bee There!

10 – 11:30 a.m.

A Sukkot celebration for preschool-age children and their families, featuring a beekeeping presentation, crafts, and dessert!

Tuesday, Oct 15 – Refuge and Journey

10:30 – 12 p.m.

A mindful exploration of Sukkot using texts, melodies, the sukkah, and the labyrinth. Enjoy refreshments. Class is $5. RSVP online by October 11.

Tuesday, Oct 15 & Wednesday, Oct 16 – Pizza in the Hut

6 – 7:30 p.m.

Join together with other families after Religious School for a complimentary pizza dinner in our outdoor sukkah. We’ll provide the food and a lulav to shake — just bring yourself! Come and go as you please throughout the evening.

10 – 11 a.m.

A special Sukkot Torah study with Rabbi Bennett.


Thursday, Oct 17 – Celebrate at Home

Send us photos of you, your family, and friends celebrating Sukkot – sitting in the sukkah, shaking the lulav, or eating sweet treats! Email photos to Tori Luecking at tluecking@sestl.org.


Oct 18 – Simchat Sukkot Shabbat

6 p.m.

Join us for a special Sukkot edition of our Simchat Shabbat Services. It’s not the first Friday of the month, but it will still be a rocking time! Simchat Shabbat is our Congregation’s family-welcoming, music-centered service. We will come together as a community to sing, give October birthday blessings, and recognize our Mitzvah Garden volunteers.


Saturday, Oct 19 – Heart & Soul Gala: Gathering in Gratitude and Honoring Greatness

7 p.m.

Please join us for cocktails in the Temple sukkah, followed by dinner and a program recognizing two special members of our congregation, Sue Matlof and Ted Houser. Reservations required online at www.sestl.org/heartandsoul2019.


Sunday, Oct 20 – A Capella Simchat Torah

6 p.m.

Enjoy a service featuring Staam, Washington University’s premier Jewish a cappella group, along with musical group, HaShemesh. Service will include the unrolling of the Torah and festive treats!


Monday, Oct 21 – Yizkor Service

9 a.m.

Come together to remember our loved ones who have passed.

Temple Office will be closed.
