Confirmation marks the completion of a 2-year program to signify the point at which Jews become responsible for their own observance of Judaism’s religious obligations. It is not the completion of Jewish learning, because Judaism is a lifelong process. Instead, it is a point in time where young Jews can celebrate their education and commitment to Judaism. The service usually takes place on the first Shabbat in June during a Saturday morning program. The students participate in the service, and are honored and blessed by the clergy and congregation.
Director of our Religious School, Rabbi-Educator Lori Levine, administers the program, while the clergy teach the program. For more information, please reach out to Rabbi Lori at [email protected] or 314-692-5361, for details on the program.
