7th Grade Program:
Our 7th graders are at a critical moment of transition, taking on the responsibility of becoming bar or bat mitzvah, and developmentally are questioning who they are and who they want to be in the world. Our program strives to honor where they are by asking big Jewish questions and engaging learners in a dialogue about what it means to them to be a Jew in the world. They also have regular opportunities to work with younger students in our Religious School as role models and develop their own budding leadership skills. Learners also have the opportunity to be together with their peers and deepen their relationships to one another. Our curriculum focuses on advocacy and mental health and wellness.
We believe this model allows us to best meet our goals of helping our learners gain a strong sense of who they are as Jews, understand why they love being Jewish, and find ways to plug into Jewish community as they grow. We expect that all 7th Graders will participate in this unique learning experience in addition to the preparation for their B’nei Mitzvah. Together this creates one holistic experience.
