Congregation Shaare Emeth is a light in our community. We strive to brighten people’s lives through Jewish education and worship experiences, prayer and mindfulness, community engagement and commitment to the social justice efforts of Tikkun Olam (“repairing the world”). We are guided in this process by our mission statement and seven core commitments.
This year during Chanukah, the Festival of Lights, we want to show you how these values allow us to be a light in St. Louis and beyond. Stay tuned for eight videos – one released on each day of Chanukah – from our clergy and staff that will tell this story of Shaare Emeth – who we are as a Congregation, what’s important to us and how you can be a part of what we do. Subscribe to our Shaare Mail list to have these videos delivered to your inbox daily, or visit this page beginning December 12 to see them in a playlist below.
We invite you to enjoy this series and to Shaare the Light by supporting our Temple.

For those over age 70½, it is once again possible to make tax-favored charitable gifts from your IRA accounts. A total of up to $100,000 can be transferred directly to Congregation Shaare Emeth free of federal income tax. There may also be state income tax savings.
To make such gifts, it is important to not withdraw funds prior to a gift, but distribute them directly from an IRA to one or more qualified charities. For those with check writing privileges on their accounts, this may be the most efficient way to make gifts directly from an IRA. Check with your IRA administrator or your advisors for more information.
