Join us for a special Torah study with Rabbi Alona Nir Keren during her visit from Israel!
Rabbi Alona Nir Keren was ordained as a Rabbi at Hebrew Union College in 2016. She currently is the Rabbi of Mevasseret Tzion , a congregation that is part of the Progressive Movement in Israel. Rabbi Alona was born and raised in a region of Haifa. During her childhood, she visited a synagogue about once a year, usually from the outside. She is a registered travel guide, and in this capacity it is where she met a different kind of Judaism for the first time, when leading a group of liberal British Jews. She earned a BA degree in International Relations and an MA in Conflict Management and Resolution, both at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She served twice as an emissary for the Jewish Agency in New Jersey and for the Reform Movement in New York. Rabbi Alona lives in Mevasseret Zion with her partner Yael and their daughter Ori.
