KeSHEr – Connecting Women Thru Community

KeSHEr is Shaare Emeth’s new initiative for women’s programming.

 

KeSHEr’s Upcoming Event:

Sisters in the Sukkah! 

Wednesday, October 16

7:30 – 9:00 p.m. 

Congregation Shaare Emeth

Enjoy seasonal drinks, uncover unique Sukkot traditions and share & sample the best of your kugels. Please submit the recipe of your favorite kugel to [email protected] by October 12.

Submitted recipes will be made available to all attendees. Then on October 16, bring your favorite kugel to share (9×13).

No worries if you don’t feel like making a kugel. Come taste, talk, and enjoy the company of other sisters in the sukkah. Program will include an enlightening discussion led by Rabbi Andrea Goldstein.

Looking forward to seeing all of our Sisters in the Sukkah.

Shelters of Peace

Finding Contentment in Our Homes ~ Working for Safety in All Homes

KeSHEr, Shaare Emeth’s new initiative for Women’s Programming, held an evening of learning and creating around the Jewish value of shalom bayit, peace in the home.

The evening included:

  • A brief learning session with Rabbi Andrea Goldstein on shalom bayit and the origin and spiritual practice of the mezuzah
  • A presentation by Michelle Schiller-Baker, executive director of St. Martha’s Hall, a St. Louis shelter providing assistance to abused women and children
  • Opportunities to create your own mezuzah and make care packages for women and children at St. Martha’s Hall
  • Creating donation packs for the women of Saint Martha’s Hall
