Teaching St. Louis children how to lead.

Camp Micah is excited to announce SummerFest 2021. Kiddos at Camp Micah dream big and put their skills to the test as they create their very own summer festival!

Our unique summer experience has been designed to help young children build skills in:

  • leadership
  • goal setting
  • big idea thinking
  • reflection
  • Jewish virtues
  • and creative arts with a mission

… all while practicing responsibility, courage and creativity, and confidence as they plan their first kid-made event ever!

A summer like never before, the littlest campers will whip up tasty festival foods, create handmade decorations, and build games for all to enjoy.  For St. Louis’ young leaders, creatives, and solutionaries, campers will celebrate all that they can do when they work together, dream together, and put their skills into action.  Camp Micah is open for young children ages 6 weeks thru prekindergarten.

A Little About Us:

Camp Micah is a Jewish day camp offered by the educators of Shirlee Green Preschool at Congregation Shaare Emeth – a preschool where young children develop personal agency and a natural character of justice through community-engaged projects in service to things larger than themselves.

A camp dedicated to showing young children what creativity, compassion, and collaboration can do for their life and the life of their community, Camp Micah hones the best of Jewish education and values in a transformative summer experience.

Session I:

8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (before- and after-care TBD)
June 7 – July 2

Campers will explore festival games, foods, and fun while brainstorming the plans for their summer festival.  This session is dedicated to the FUN-damentals of festivals including: diving deep into painting and creative arts, sewing and handicrafts,  and much more.  From music to murals, campers will make new friends and discover new talents as they create the artistic vision for this year’s festival.

Session II:

8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (before- and after-care TBD)
July 5 – 30

Calling all sports fanatics and game enthusiasts!  Exploring outdoor group games, obstacle courses, and festival challenges is the name of the game this session as campers put themselves to the test of designing and creating games for their summer fest.  Stepping up to the challenge of outdoor individual and group sports and games, taking turns, creating and following rules, game design, woodworking and painting are just the beginning for these campers as they invent and build their way through a thrilling sports and game-filled July.

Session III:

8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (before- and after-care TBD)
August 2 – 17

Young chefs will practice their cooking chops as they explore the joy of festival foods while inventing their very own recipes. We start with kitchen basics and cooking safety as our youngest chefs learn to chop, stir, follow recipes, and use math and science skills to measure.  They’ll thrill us all as they joyfully feature their delectable treats at SummerFest!
