We at Congregation Shaare Emeth join in overwhelming concern and compassion for those whose lives are being impacted so dramatically by the storms and flooding in Texas and the surrounding areas. We offer prayers for the safety, well-being and hope for those in the path of this storm and its flooding. We offer prayers of strength and fortitude for the first responders and other officials who are mobilized in rescue and relief efforts.
At this early stage, we encourage members of the Congregation to begin to offer our generous support through financial donations to the Houston Jewish Federation or the American Red Cross. As the need for volunteers, donations and support becomes clear, we stand ready to mobilize our efforts to support and assist.
The immediate safety and well-being of those affected is our primary concern. Should the need arise, would you be willing to open your home with a spare bedroom to a displaced member of the community? We’re starting a list of those willing to participate. If you would like to add your name, click here.
May God watch over all of those affected by this event and bring comfort, courage and strength to all who are in need.
