Confirmation marks the completion of a 2-year program to signify the point at which Jews become responsible for their own observance of Judaism’s religious obligations. It is not the completion of Jewish learning, because Judaism is a lifelong process. Instead, it is a point in time where young Jews can celebrate their education and commitment to Judaism. The service usually takes place on the first Shabbat in June during a Saturday morning program. The students participate in the service, and are honored and blessed by the clergy and congregation.
Director of our Religious School, Liessa Alperin administers the program, while the clergy teach the program. For more information, please reach out to Liessa Alperin, [email protected] or 314-692-5361, for details on the program.
