Amy Worth is looking forward to her 23rd year as a religious school teacher. She has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education, has taught in public schools, and has even taught at our own Shirlee Green Preschool. Amy grew up in St. Louis and has been a member of Shaare Emeth for 26+ years, beginning when she married her husband, Brad. She has two children, Ali and Michael z”l. She loves to watch movies and play games.
Jodi Granok is excited to begin her 26th year teaching at Shaare Emeth! She is the owner of Organizing Magic, a professional organizing company that works with overwhelmed people to get their homes and lives organized. Jodi is married to Howard (also a Shaare Emeth teacher) and they have two adorable cats, Bonnie and Clyde.
Beth DuBro is excited to teach second grade this year. She grew up in St. Louis and graduated from Fontbonne University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Proud wife and mother to their five-year-old son, Beth is also a certified yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance and was the first Jewish baby of 1984. She loves eating desserts and going to the bookstore.
Jerri Livingston is a native St. Louisan. This is her 3rd year as a Hebrew tutor. She was a 2nd grade Religious School for 24 years. She is active in the interfaith community and is a breast cancer awareness advocate.
I am helping as a resource/hebrew teacher on Sundays and Midweek Hebrew Teacher and sous chef in the kitchen. I am from the Jewish Mecca of the midwest, Dubuque, IA. I have lived in IA, CA, KS and now MO for 16 years. I loved to find whimsical art and create it! I also love walking my dog, Yossi and and eating out with my husband, Ken!
Renee Biernbaum is excited to teach 3rd Grade for her 4th year! She is from St. Louis and has grown up at Shaare Emeth since Preschool. She is a reality tv junkie, loves shopping and enjoys spending time with her niece and nephew.
Sarah Nash is from Kirkwood Missouri, and is a senior at Kirkwood High School. She loves to draw and read!
Justin Bohm is from Chesterfield and has grown up in Shaare Emeth his whole life. He is a recent Mizzou graduate, and he loves to play video games and write in his free time.
Howard Granok is beginning his 10th year at Shaare Emeth religious school. During the week, Howard teaches science at Crossroads College Prep. When not working, Howard enjoys fly fishing and cycling. Howard grew up in New Mexico, and he misses the green chile, pink mountains, and blue sky.
Eli Hurwitz is really excited to teach 4th Grade this year! Born and raised in St. Louis and currently a senior John Burroughs School, Eli loves drawing, acting, and Food-Network-esque TV shows.
Scott Massey is absolutely thrilled to be teaching music at Shaare Emeth this year. He grew up in the Philadelphia area, where he was a Songleader for both his Synagogue’s Sunday school as well as his NFTY region, NFTY-PAR. He is now a freshman at Washington University in St. Louis. When not songleading Scott is seen studying neuroscience, playing ultimate frisbee, or singing in Staam, WashU’s Jewish a cappella group.
Michael Siler is a Senior from Parkway North High School and has been at Shaare Emeth his whole life. He swims, plays water polo, and is very active in SETYG. He has love working as a Madrich and can’t wait to teach 4th Grade this year!
Melanie Gunn is so excited to be teaching 6th grade this year. She is originally from the Chicago area but has lived in St. Louis for 8 years. During the week she is a Kindergarten teacher. She loves reading and spending time with her dogs, Daisy and Sophie. She also got married this year to Anthony Hawkins.
Lisa Meyers is originally from Southern California. She majored in Theatre and Jewish Studies in college, and loves writing plays and performing stand up comedy. She also studied abroad in Prague, and loved learning about the area’s Jewish history.
