Past Yizkor Services:
Service of Remembrance
Wednesday, September 20 at 5 p.m. • New Mt. Sinai Cemetery Mausoleum
New Mount Sinai Cemetery, Congregation Shaare Emeth, and Temple Israel’s joint cemetery will present a Kever Avot v’Imahot service – A Memorial Service Honoring Those Who Came Before Us – in the cemetery’s Community Mausoleum.
This service of remembrance is meditative and prayerful, providing comfort and solace for all. Led by clergy of the member congregations and musicians from the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra and others, the service is both reflective and comforting. It is a beautiful way to transition from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur and remember whose shoulders on which we stand.
Yom Kippur Yizkor Healing Neilah Service
Monday, September 25 at 4:15 p.m. in the Stiffman Sanctuary
This year’s closing service will include three elements:
- Yizkor, time dedicated to the memories of loved ones whom we have lost.
- Healing, prayers, and music that help us connect with a sense of wholeness amidst a broken world.
- Neilah, our concluding service reminding us of the power of our promises as we prepare to step joyfully into the new year.
